Captain CHOO's BIG PUBLIC Debut is a HIT!


Greetings, my friends!😁

Fall is upon us, and it has been busy already!


You may have missed some updates here, as I posted Corn Fest VIDEOS and REELS directly to my davidschouhanart (First name, middle initial S, last name, then art) Facebook PAGE and personal Dave Chouhan FB profile. People respond better to the (easier access) direct social media posts than when my social media redirects them to a website.

Here's a quick update:

CORN FEST 2024 was a blowout HIT for us, which I'm ecstatic about!😊 Apparently, Denise and I make convincing Privateers in real life!

This was a two-day event, so we tried out our first Two costume compilations. They worked great.

The primary goal was Marketing; to get noticed, and spread "brand recognition." I put together some cool props, so I got to engage people in some hilarious spontaneous antics.😄 I'm glad to report we were loved by kids and adults alike, and had an absolute HOOT! Selling a pile of books was a happy bonus!


YESTERDAY, we were invited to our friends Kelsey and Ruthie's "Fairy-tale theme" wedding. He insisted we show up as Captain CHOO and First Mate Mrs. CHOO, so THIS picture is from that event, with us modelling our 3rd set of outfits.

They've all been received very well, with many requests for pictures and comments on the "authenticity" of the look, which is exactly what we're striving for.

Once again, it was a Huge hit, not only with the kids but with adults too. We are ON to something with these public "in-character" appearances.


Fall Plans:

You might have noticed "radio silence" on my blog for the last few months, because during summer/fall my work is focused on home renovations and other things. I'm still neck-deep in those projects. MUCH has been accomplished, but I'm a little behind in my timeline of goals for 2024.

That means I keep at it, and won't officially be diving into the books for the winter season until the snow flies, whenever that might be.


My initial primary focus THEN will be, FIRST, submitting another query letter to a Publishing house, then, SECOND, continuing work on my first Commissioned work, tentatively titled, "Why Christmas Matters." I'm excited about this book because of the subject matter, and because it is for a friend.

It may not be ready for this Christmas, due to the timeline for:

creating it, ordering a Proof, Shipping time for the proof, reviewing and approving, waiting for whenever I get a decent discount Coupon code to order the Bulk shipment, then waiting again on shipping. But this book IS going to happen, and it will be a significant timeless addition to the Collection.


You won't hear from me for a bit while I try to knock off some last-minute projects, but please stay tuned for the Fall season of Captain CHOO!
