CUSTOM Costumes for CAPTAIN CHOO!

People don't realize how many aspects come together to create the "vision" of Captain CHOO. There's much work behind the scenes...


I've always enjoyed acting, and role-playing. Like any form of Art, it lets you explore your imagination. Writing and drawing the Captain CHOO kids' books is exciting, but BRINGING IT TO LIFE for kids by coming to them in person as the Captain is Next-level!


That said, unless you are willing to spend Thousands of dollars for Hollywood-quality outfits, the costumes available for Halloween are typically very cheap in material and construction.

I'm fussy. To get a genuine look, Denise and I have scoured new & thrift stores for a couple of years, seeking unique individual items, to combine later in an ensemble.


The cost is prohibitive for leather items like belts and sword/pistol scabbards, so we CREATE our own custom pieces!


We cut/sew/glue/staple and otherwise combine materials to make one-of-a-kind pieces that we invent!

It's a TON of work and time, but the results are Fabulous, and we get Many comments on how great the costumes look. :)
