Hello FANS! đ€©
I just sent a QUERY letter to a Canadian Publishing agent based out of Toronto!
(It seems most the bigger Canadian publishers accepting unsolicited queries are based in TO.)
I would really appreciate any of you who would take a moment to pray for a positive outcome!
This is a BIG deal for me:
When you submit to an Agent it isn't a simple generic cut-&-paste letter;
You have dodge the "scammers," whilst seeking legitimate and reputable outfits.
Each publisher/agent has very specific submission guidelines, and you also need to know exactly which agent is accepting submissions and exactly what type of material they want. It takes a LOT of research to do it right. And if you don't check the boxes you might as well chuck your submission in the garbage, because it wont get reviewed. Then... you wait anxiously for up to 6 weeks to get a response, with NO response meaning you didn't "make the cut."
I'm not naĂŻve. I know it takes MULTIPLE submissions to get a publishing deal, & rejection is par for the course. Any successful writer says don't get into the business if you can't handle that.
It's not my favourite part of the job, so I tend to procrastinate, keeping busy with other aspects. But I also know this is the only way to make it mainstream, so I have to try.
Today I bit the bullet and "gave it another whirl."
Now I can move on to the more fun stuff with a clear mind! Lord, please guide and direct my path, Amen...
